An updated tzdata package that updates Daylight Saving Time observations for Samoa and Fiji is now available.
The tzdata package contains data files with rules for various time zones around the world.
This updated package addresses the following changes to Daylight Saving Time (DST) observations:
In Samoa, the Daylight Saving Time period ends on 2011-04-03 at 1:00, not at midnight.
In Fiji, the end of the Daylight Saving Time period has been moved to 2011-03-06.
In the zone.tab file, an obsolete association of Vostok Station with South Magnetic Pole was removed, and the association with Lake Vostok was added instead.
All users, especially those in the locale affected by this time change and users interacting with people or systems in the affected locale, are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which adds these enhancements.

An updated tzdata package that updates Daylight Saving Time observations for Chile is now available.
The tzdata package contains data files with rules for various time zones around the world.
This updated package addresses the following changes to Daylight Saving Time (DST) observations:
Kemerovo Oblast, Russia, incorrectly used the NOVT abbreviation, which is UTC+7. With this update, it uses the OMST/OMSST abbreviation and is correctly assigned the UTC+6 time zone. (

New zone America/Metlakatla was added to represent time of Metlakatla Indian Community.
Mercer County, North Dakota, USA, changed from the Mountain Time Zone to the Central Time Zone. A zone named America/North_Dakota/Beulah was created to hold the relevant data.

Daylight Saving Time in Samoa will occur a day earlier, on April 11th, 2011.
Daylight Saving Time in Cuba will occur on March 20th, 2011.

Chile was supposed to switch to the standard time April 2nd, 2011. With this update Daylight Saving Time is retained for additional five weeks and the system switches to standard time on May 7th, 2011. (
