Chapter 3. Developer Preview features

This section lists Developer Preview features in Red Hat Developer Hub 1.10.

Important

Developer Preview features are not supported by Red Hat in any way and are not functionally complete or production-ready. Do not use Developer Preview features for production or business-critical workloads. Developer Preview features provide early access to functionality in advance of possible inclusion in a Red Hat product offering. Customers can use these features to test functionality and provide feedback during the development process. Developer Preview features might not have any documentation, are subject to change or removal at any time, and have received limited testing. Red Hat might provide ways to submit feedback on Developer Preview features without an associated SLA.

For more information about the support scope of Red Hat Developer Preview features, see Developer Preview Support Scope.

Personal AI Notebooks available (Developer Preview)

This update introduces Personal AI Notebooks as a Developer Preview feature within Developer Lightspeed for RHDH. This feature lets you create isolated workspaces where you can upload project-specific documentation, such as PDFs, Markdown files, and .docx files for focused, RAG-based (Retrieval Augmented Generation) chat interactions.

Additionally, the Developer Lightspeed for RHDH Chat fullscreen mode has been updated with a refreshed interface:

  • Header: Replaced hamburger menu with Developer Lightspeed for RHDH logo; added horizontal tab bar.
  • History Panel: Collapsible/expandable and resizable; includes a quick "new chat" icon in collapsed state.
  • Message Bar: Model selector moved inside the bar for all display mode.
Important

Following known issues have been identified:

  • Some large PDF files upload extremely slowly and uploading multiple large files may cause the server to overload.
  • When user attempts to upload a duplicate document when a document is processing, there can be duplicate document entries.
  • Not all uploaded documents might be searched through and referenced in chat interactions.
Backstage MCP tools available (Developer Preview)
This update introduces support for Backstage MCP tools in Red Hat Developer Hub. The tools are available by default and include Red Hat-specific rhdh-mcp-<domain>-extras overlay plugins with features such as advanced Software Catalog filters or Scaffolder actions.
Customizable Scorecard severity levels, colors, and icons (Developer Preview)

With this update, RHDH supports custom severity thresholds, color mappings, and icon assignments for individual Scorecard metrics.

Platform engineers can define custom severity states beyond the standard success, warning, and error keys. By adding rules under the scorecard.plugins configuration block, you can map metric evaluations to tailored UI icons and flexible color values, including hex codes, theme variables (such as success.main), and RGB strings.

Note

This enhancement maintains full backward compatibility with existing thresholds. Invalid style formatting are handled so that interface rendering is protected.

Developer Lightspeed for RHDH evaluation framework and data (Developer Preview)

With this update, the RHDH official documentation provides access to the Developer Lightspeed for RHDHevaluation framework, including AI-generated Question and Answer datasets and evaluation result reports.

This feature is provided to help inform model selection for Developer Lightspeed for RHDH. You can download the Question and Answer datasets, run evaluations against your own model of choice, and review per-release evaluation results.
