1.3. Installation and Upgrade

For instructions on how to install JBoss Enterprise Web Server, refer to Part I, “Installation”. Upgrading JBoss Enterprise Web Server is not supported. To upgrade to 2.0 from an older version, a fresh installation is recommended.

Warning

If the RPM method was used to install JBoss Enterprise Web Server 1.x, it is not possible to remove JBoss Enterprise Web Server 1.x and install JBoss Enterprise Web Server 2.0 on the same machine. On a machine where JBoss Enterprise Web Server 1.x was installed using the ZIP method, it is possible to remove version 1.x and install version 2.0 on the same machine.
However, it is possible to upgrade the JBoss Enterprise Web Server 1.x installation to JBoss Enterprise Web Server 2 using the yum update command.
