Chapter 9. Backing up data

Backing up OpenShift AI involves various components, including the OpenShift cluster and storage data.

9.1. Backing up storage data

It is a best practice to back up the data on your persistent volume claims (PVCs) regularly.

Backing up your data is particularly important before you delete a user and before you uninstall OpenShift AI, as all PVCs are deleted when OpenShift AI is uninstalled.

For more information about backing up PVCs for your cluster platform, see OADP Application backup and restore in the OpenShift Container Platform documentation.

9.2. Backing up your cluster

If you plan to upgrade or uninstall OpenShift AI on your cluster, back up your cluster data so that you can restore it later if needed.

For more information, see Backup and restore in the OpenShift Container Platform documentation.
