3.3. Uploading Satellite Proxy Entitlements to Satellite

This section shows you how to upload the updated manifest to your Satellite server.
  1. Log into your Red Hat Satellite server as an administration user.
  2. Navigate to Admin Red Hat Satellite Configuration Manifest.
  3. Click Browse and select the updated manifest.

    Note

To upload the manifest from the command line, on the Satellite server, run:
    [root@satellite ~]# rhn-satellite-activate --manifest=manifest_file.zip
Copy to Clipboard Toggle word wrap
  4. Synchronize the RHN Tools channel and the Proxy channel.
    [root@satellite ~]# cdn-sync --channel rhn-tools-rhel-x86_64-server-6
Copy to Clipboard Toggle word wrap
    [root@satellite ~]# cdn-sync --channel redhat-rhn-proxy-5.8-server-x86_64-6
Copy to Clipboard Toggle word wrap
  5. Once synchronized, add these entitlements to an activation key. Navigate to Systems Activation Keys and click create new key. Add the base channel for these entitlements, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux base channel, and select Provisioning entitlement. Click Create Activation Key to complete.
The Satellite server now contains the required entitlements to install the Red Hat Satellite Proxy. The resulting activation key contains these entitlements and is used to register the Proxy host to the required channels.
