Procedure 3.2. Installing the Self-Hosted Engine

  1. Install the self-hosted engine packages: 
    # yum install ovirt-hosted-engine-setup
    Copy to Clipboard Toggle word wrap
  2. Optionally install the RHEV-M Virtual Appliance package if you intend to use the appliance for the Manager virtual machine installation: 
    # yum install rhevm-appliance
    Copy to Clipboard Toggle word wrap
    You can also use a CD-ROM, disk, or PXE installation media for the Manager operating system installation. The physical CD-ROM drive is not supported.
Proceed to the next section to deploy and configure self-hosted engine on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux host.
