Chapter 22. Troubleshooting: Correcting problems with RHEL metering configuration

The proper configuration of data collection for a metered Red Hat Enterprise Linux software-as-a-service subscription from a cloud marketplace requires steps that must be done in the cloud provider environment and the Red Hat environment. Recent analysis of customer feedback about this process has resulted in the creation of Knowledgebase solution content on the Red Hat Customer Portal to troubleshoot problems with this configuration.

A problem with the RHEL metering configuration can most likely be traced to one or more of the following three issues:

  • A problem with the configuration of the data collection by either the host-metering agent or with the cost management service in the Hybrid Cloud Console.
  • A problem with the association of the Red Hat metered RHEL subscription to the correct cloud provider account.
  • A problem with the integration (linkage) between the Red Hat Organization and the cloud provider account.
