Chapter 5. Deploying Ceph

Once the pre-requisites and initial tuning are complete, consider deploying a Ceph cluster. When deploying a production cluster, Red Hat recommends setting up the initial monitor cluster and enough OSD nodes to reach an active + clean state. For details, see the Installing a Red Hat Ceph Storage Cluster section in the Red Hat Ceph Storage 4 Installation Guide.

Then, install the Ceph CLI client on an administration node. For details, see the Installing the Ceph Command Line Interface section in the Red Hat Ceph Storage 4 Installation Guide.

Once the initial cluster is running, consider adding the settings in the following sections to the Ceph configuration file.
