Chapter 16. SSH Console Commands

The ssh commands allow you to connect to or create a secure shell (SSH) server.
Type ssh: then press Tab at the prompt to view the available commands.

16.1. ssh:ssh, ssh


connects to a remote SSH server


ssh:ssh [ --help ] [[ -l username ] | [ --username username ]] [[ -P password ] | [ --password password ]] [[ -p port ] | [ --port port ]] { hostname } [ command ]


Table 16.1, “ssh:ssh Arguments” describes the commands arguments.
Table 16.1. ssh:ssh Arguments
--help Displays the online help for this command
-l, --username The username for remote login
-P, --password The password for remote login
-p, --port The port to use for the SSH connection
hostname The hostname to connect to via SSH
command Specifies a command to execute upon connecting.
