4.190.1. RHBA-2012:1437 — util-linux bug fix update

Updated util-linux packages that fix a bug are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.

The util-linux packages contain a set of low-level system utilities that are necessary for a Linux operating system to function.

Bug Fix

BZ#865791: Due to a regression, the fdisk utility did not provide kernel with updated information about new partition table on some systems. Consequently, fdisk failed to partition a disk not in use at the time. A patch has been provided to address this issue and fdisk now works as expected in the described scenario.

Users of util-linux are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix this bug.
