5.1. AI assistants in the Hybrid Cloud Console

You can access several AI-powered tools within the Hybrid Cloud Console to help with your tasks.

Depending on your needs, use Ask Red Hat, RHEL Lightspeed, OpenShift Assisted Installer, or the Hybrid Cloud Console virtual assistant to help you find answers, configure settings, and more.

The AI assistants retain your chat history, can remain open in the console as you work, and can be minimized. You can use multiple AI assistants at the same time and toggle between your conversations.

5.1.1. Using the AI assistants

You can use AI assistants in the Hybrid Cloud Console such as Ask Red Hat, RHEL Lightspeed, OpenShift Assisted Installer, or the Hybrid Cloud Console virtual assistant to help you find answers, configure settings, and more.

Prerequisites

  • You are logged in to the Hybrid Cloud Console.

    Note

You cannot log in to the Hybrid Cloud Console with your email address unless your email address is the same as your Red Hat login. For more information, see Chapter 2, Finding your Red Hat login.

  • Your account has valid Red Hat subscriptions for the selected AI assistant:

    • Ask Red Hat requires one active subscription or trial subscription.
    • RHEL Lightspeed requires a RHEL subscription. See the RHEL Lightspeed documentation for more details.
    • OpenShift Assisted Installer and the Hybrid Cloud Console virtual assistant do not have a specific subscription requirement.

Procedure

  1. Click the AI assistants icon in the lower right of the Hybrid Cloud Console screen. The AI assistants panel opens.
  2. Select an AI assistant from the AI Assistant dropdown menu to start a conversation with Ask Red Hat, RHEL Lightspeed, OpenShift Assisted Installer, or the Hybrid Cloud Console virtual assistant.
  3. Click an example question, or type your query in the Send a message field and then press the Enter key.

5.1.2. Ask Red Hat

Ask Red Hat is a conversational AI search tool built on Red Hat open-source AI technologies. It has access to a range of Red Hat content including product documentation, the Red Hat Knowledgebase, and product security content such as CVEs and advisories. Use it to perform the following tasks:

  • Search for quick answers about Red Hat products, including error messages, security vulnerabilities, and general usage.
  • Access the Red Hat Knowledgebase, documentation, and other resources to find solutions to issues related to Red Hat products.

You can also open Ask Red Hat from the Help panel (the ? icon).

5.1.3. RHEL Lightspeed

The RHEL Lightspeed assistant can help provide answers to questions about Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems, support with troubleshooting, recommendations, help with understanding log files, and more.

5.1.4. OpenShift Assisted Installer

The OpenShift Assisted Installer assistant can help you create, configure, and install OpenShift Container Platform clusters using the Assisted Installer.

It can help you find information such as a list of your OpenShift clusters, available OpenShift versions, and more.

5.1.5. Hybrid Cloud Console virtual assistant

The Hybrid Cloud Console virtual assistant can help with tasks such as changing your personal information, requesting access from your administrator, displaying critical vulnerabilities, and providing recommendations from Advisor.

While it is not possible to retrieve the identity of your Organization Administrator from the Hybrid Cloud Console, you can use the virtual assistant to send a message to your Organization Administrator to request access to Hybrid Cloud Console services.

5.2. Hybrid Cloud Console help panel

From the Help panel, you can get support for Red Hat services from within the Hybrid Cloud Console and access the Red Hat status page, Ask Red Hat, and your support cases. The help panel also contains links to learning resources and API documentation.

To open the help panel, click Help (? icon). The help panel remains open in the console user interface until closed, allowing you to keep resources open to guide you while you navigate the console and complete tasks. You can open multiple tabs in the help panel to keep several resources available at the same time. To close the help panel, click Help again or the X.

5.2.1. Opening a support case

You can open a Red Hat support case from the Red Hat Hybrid Cloud Console for help with the Red Hat services that are associated with your Hybrid Cloud Console account login.

Procedure

  5. Review the list of suggested Red Hat Knowledgebase solutions for a potential match against the problem that you are reporting, or enter keywords to search for more solutions. If the suggested articles do not address the issue, click Continue.

    Note

Articles might not be available for your issue.

  6. Provide additional information in the fields about business impact, environment, and frequency of the issue.
  7. Optional: Upload log or other diagnostic files to attach to your request in the File uploader and analyzer box. These types of files help support engineers resolve your issues quickly. The prompts under this box change depending on the product that you selected.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. Edit the support level, severity, and your contact details, and then click Continue. The summary page opens.
  10. Review the information that you entered, and then click Submit. A confirmation screen displays a case number for your issue and the message We’ve added your case to our queue.

Verification

  1. Click Cases to view a list of all support cases.
  2. Find your case in the list.
  3. Click the case ID number to view your case.

5.2.2. Checking for Red Hat service outages
