Chapter 7. Standalone Server vs. Managed Domain Considerations

download PDF

Setting up identity management with an LDAP server, including Microsoft Active Directory, is essentially the same regardless or whether it is used in a standalone server or a managed domain. In general, this also applies to setting up most identity stores with both security realms and security domains. Just as with any other configuration setting, the standalone configuration resides in the standalone.xml file and the configuration for a managed domain resides in the domain.xml and host.xml files.
