13.4. Create Time-Series-Database-as-a-Service Database
Create the database and database user used by the Time-Series-Database-as-a-Service service. All steps in this procedure must be performed on the database server, while logged in as the
root user.
- Connect to the database service:
# mysql -u root -p - Create the Time-Series-Database-as-a-Service database:
mysql> CREATE DATABASE gnocchi; - Create a Time-Series-Database-as-a-Service database user and grant the user access to the Time-Series-Database-as-a-Service database:
mysql> GRANT ALL ON gnocchi.* TO 'gnocchi'@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'PASSWORD'; mysql> GRANT ALL ON gnocchi.* TO 'gnocchi'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'PASSWORD';ReplacePASSWORDwith a secure password that will be used to authenticate with the database server as this user. - Flush the database privileges to ensure that they take effect immediately:
mysql> FLUSH PRIVILEGES; - Exit the
mysqlclient:mysql> quit
