Adoption workflow and task sequence

Familiarize yourself with the steps of the adoption process.

Main adoption process
  1. Migrate TLS everywhere (TLS-e) to the Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift (RHOSO) deployment.
  2. Migrate your existing databases to the new control plane.
  3. Adopt your Red Hat OpenStack Platform 17.1 control plane services to the new RHOSO 18.0 deployment.
  4. Scaling down director Operator resources.
  5. Adopt the RHOSO 18.0 data plane.
  6. Migrate the Object Storage service (swift) to the RHOSO nodes.
  7. Migrate the Red Hat Ceph Storage cluster.
    1. Migrate the monitoring stack component to new nodes within an existing Red Hat Ceph Storage cluster.
    2. Migrate Red Hat Ceph Storage MDS to new nodes within the existing cluster.
    3. Migrate Red Hat Ceph Storage RGW to external RHEL nodes.
    4. Migrate Red Hat Ceph Storage RBD to external RHEL nodes.
Distributed Compute Node (DCN) architecture process

    If you use a DCN architecture with storage, the following additional steps apply, depending on the services that are included in your deployment:

    3. Adopting Compute services with multiple Red Hat Ceph Storage back ends (DCN)
