Preface

In this guide, the terms upgrade, update, and migrate have the following meanings:

Upgrading
The process of advancing your Satellite Server and Capsule Server installations from a y-stream release to the next, for example Satellite 6.12 to Satellite 6.13. For more information, see Chapter 1, Upgrading Overview.
Updating
The process of advancing your Satellite Server and Capsule Server installations from a z-stream release to the next, for example Satellite 6.13.0 to Satellite 6.13.1. For more information, see Chapter 3, Updating Satellite Server and Capsule Server.
Migrating
The process of moving an existing Satellite installation to a new instance.
