Chapter 1. Performing storage operations in Red Hat OpenStack Services on OpenShift

You can use the Block Storage service (cinder) to provision persistent volumes that preserve data even when instances are terminated, with features for backups, snapshots, and encryption to protect your data.

You can use the Image service (glance) to manage virtual machine images and snapshots in a centralized repository, providing templates for launching instances and enabling instance cloning and restoration.

You can use the Object Storage service (swift) to store and retrieve unstructured data in a scalable, distributed system that organizes data into containers, or use Red Hat Ceph Storage RADOS Gateway (RGW) as an alternative.

You can use the Shared File Systems service (manila) to provision remote, shareable file systems that provide POSIX-compliant storage. Multiple cloud instances can have read and write access to shares concurrently, enabling file-level data sharing in the cloud.
