The release notes highlight what is new and what has changed with each Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed release.

1.1. OpenShift Lightspeed version 0.2.0

Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed 0.2.0 is now available on OpenShift Container Platform 4.15 or later.

1.1.1. Enhancements

The following enhancements have been made with Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed 0.2.0:

  • This release introduces the Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed Operator as a Technology Preview release. Previously, the Lightspeed Operator was a Developer Preview release.
  • Beginning in this release, the Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed Operator can be installed on an OpenShift Container Platform cluster in a disconnected environment.
  • With this release, Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI can be configured as the Large Language Model (LLM) provider.
  • This release adds the ability to attach a YAML file to a question you ask on the pages accessible from Networking in the OpenShift Container Platform web console. Attaching a YAML file to a question can provide additional context, enabling OpenShift Lightspeed to provide a more refined answer.

1.2. OpenShift Lightspeed version 0.1.7

Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed 0.1.7 is now available on OpenShift Container Platform 4.15 or later.

1.2.1. Enhancements

The following enhancements have been made with Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed 0.1.7:

  • The OLSConfig Custom Resource (CR) has new fields for configuring an additional Certificate Autority (CA) to authenticate the connection with the Large Language Model (LLM) provider. OpenShift Lightspeed Administrators can add certificates for additional CAs into a configuration map and refer to it by name in the OLSConfig CR.

1.3. OpenShift Lightspeed version 0.1.6

Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed 0.1.6 is now available on OpenShift Container Platform 4.15 or later.

1.3.1. Enhancements

The following enhancements have been made with Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed 0.1.6:

  • When installing the OpenShift Lightspeed Operator, the Enable Operator recommended cluster monitoring on this Namespace check box is now selected by default on the Operator Installation User Interface. The installer applies the openshift-lightspeed openshift.io/cluster-monitoring=true label to the openshift-lightspeed namespace. Applying this label allows cluster monitoring metrics to be obtained from the Service. To disable metric collection by the cluster monitoring stack, remove the label from the openshift-lightspeed namespace.
  • Beginning in this release, Red Hat OpenShift AI (RHOAI) can be configured as the Large Language Model (LLM) provider.

1.4. OpenShift Lightspeed version 0.1.5

Issued: 12 September 2024

Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed 0.1.5 is now available on OpenShift Container Platform 4.15 or later.

1.4.1. Enhancements

  • This release introduces support for Large Language Model (LLM) authentication using Microsoft Azure with Microsoft Entra ID.
  • This release introduces the ability to attach logs on the Details page for the DaemonSet, Deployment, Job, ReplicaSet and StatefulSet resource types. When asking OpenShift Lightspeed a question, attaching logs helps provide additional context so Lightspeed can provide a more refined answer.
  • When the OpenShift Lightspeed Service is not running, the chat window now indicates that the Service is not ready.
