Chapter 20. Configuring and running standalone Business Central
You can use the Business Central standalone JAR file to run Business Central without deploying it to an application server. You can use sample configuration files to run the Business Central standalone JAR file out of the box or you can customize the sampfiles for your requirements.
This JAR file is supported only when it is run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Prerequisites

The Red Hat Decision Manager 7.10.0 Business Central Standalone (
rhdm-7.10.0-decision-central-standalone.jar) and the Red Hat Decision Manager 7.10.0 Add Ons (rhdm-7.10.0-add-ons.zip) files have been downloaded from the Software Downloads page for Red Hat Decision Manager 7.10, as described in Chapter 12, Downloading the Red Hat Decision Manager installation files.
Procedure

Extract the downloaded
rhdm-7.10.0-addons.zipto a temporary directory. This archive includes therhdm-7.10.0-standalone-sample-configuration.zipfile. Extract the
rhdm-7.10.0-standalone-sample-configuration.zipfile to the directory that contains therhdm-7.10.0-decision-central-standalone.jarfile. Therhdm-7.10.0-standalone-sample-configuration.zipfile contains the following sample configuration files:-
application-roles.properties -
application-users.properties sample-standalone-config.ymlYou can run the
rhdm-7.10.0-decision-central-standalone.jarfiles with the sample data provided in the configuration files or you can customize the data for your requirements.

To customize the configuration data, complete the following steps:
Edit the
application-users.propertiesfile. Include an administrative user and if this Business Central instance will be a Decision Manager controller for KIE Server, include a Decision Manager controller user, for example:rhdmAdmin=password1Edit the
application-roles.propertiesfile to assign roles to the users that you included in theapplication-users.propertiesfile, for example:rhdmAdmin=admin controllerUser=kie-serverFor more information, see Chapter 11, Red Hat Decision Manager roles and users.

Review the contents of the the
sample-standalone-config.ymlconfiguration file and update as required.
To run the Business Central standalone JAR file, enter the following command:
java -jar rhdm-7.10.0-decision-central-standalone.jar -s sample-standalone-config.ymlTo set application properties when you run the JAR file, include the
-D<PROPERTY>=<VALUE>parameter in the command, where<PROPERTY>is the name of a supported application property and<VALUE>is the property value:java -jar rhdm-7.10.0-decision-central-standalone.jar -s sample-standalone-config.yml -D<PROPERTY>=<VALUE> -D<PROPERTY>=<VALUE>For example, to run Business Central and connect to KIE Server as the user
controllerUser, enter:java -jar {PRODUCT_FILE}-{URL_COMPONENT_CENTRAL}-standalone.jar \ -s sample-standalone-config.yml \ -Dorg.kie.server.user=controllerUser -Dorg.kie.server.pwd=controllerUser1234Doing this enables you to deploy containers to KIE Server. See Appendix A, Business Central system properties for more information.
