This section outlines the top new features for the Compute service.
- Guest Device Role Tagging and Metadata Injection
- With this update, OpenStack Compute creates and injects an additional metadata file which allows the guest to identify the instance based on the tags - the type of device, the bus it is attached to, the device address, the MAC address or drive serial string, the network or disk device name.The guest is allowed to interpret the data. When the device role tags are used, the data is available through the metadata server and the configuration drive. For example, an example metadata file is as follows:

- The API policy defaults are now defined in code like configuration options. Because of this, the sample
