7.2. Setting up Guests
All virtual systems on the hypervisor need to be registered to the Satellite to make sure that virt-who links these guests to the hypervisor correctly.
To register a guest on the VMWare ESX hypervisor to the Satellite:
- Download the SSL cert from the Satellite to the guest system:
# rpm -Uvh https://satellite_hostname.example.com/pub/rhn-org-trusted-ssl-cert-1.0-1.noarch.rpm - Edit the following entries in the
/etc/sysconfig/rhn/up2date:serverURL=https://satellite.hostname.example.com/XMLRPC sslCACert=/usr/share/rhn/RHN-ORG-TRUSTED-SSL-CERT - Register the guest to the Satellite by running the command:
# rhnreg_ks --username sat_username --password sat_password
