12.25. SAX and DOM Visitor Implementations
Your implementation can support both SAX and DOM, but Red Hat recommends implementing a SAX only Visitor. SAX-based implementations are usually easier to create and perform faster.
Important
All Visitor implementations are treated as stateless objects. A single Visitor instance must be usable concurrently across multiple messages, that is, across multiple concurrent calls to the
Smooks.filterSource method. All state associated with the current Smooks.filterSource execution must be stored in the ExecutionContext.
