9.9. Configuring SSH Keys on the Node Host
Copy the appropriate SSH key from the broker host to each node host. This is necessary to move gears between node hosts. The following instructions describe how to configure your SSH keys.
You can have multiple broker hosts configured for redundancy. Ensure that each node host has the
rsync_id_rsa.pub public key of each broker host by repeating steps three through five of the following procedure for each broker host.
Procedure 9.6. To Configure SSH Keys on the Node Host:
- On the node host, create a
/root/.sshdirectory if it does not exist:mkdir -p /root/.ssh
# mkdir -p /root/.sshCopy to Clipboard Copied! Toggle word wrap Toggle overflow - Configure the appropriate permissions for the
/root/.sshdirectory:chmod 700 /root/.ssh
# chmod 700 /root/.sshCopy to Clipboard Copied! Toggle word wrap Toggle overflow - Copy the SSH key from the broker host to each node host:
scp root@broker.example.com:/etc/openshift/rsync_id_rsa.pub /root/.ssh/
# scp root@broker.example.com:/etc/openshift/rsync_id_rsa.pub /root/.ssh/Copy to Clipboard Copied! Toggle word wrap Toggle overflow - Supply the root user password of the broker host when prompted:
root@broker.example.com's password:
root@broker.example.com's password:Copy to Clipboard Copied! Toggle word wrap Toggle overflow - Copy the contents of the SSH key to the
/root/.ssh/authorized_keysfile:cat /root/.ssh/rsync_id_rsa.pub >> /root/.ssh/authorized_keys
# cat /root/.ssh/rsync_id_rsa.pub >> /root/.ssh/authorized_keysCopy to Clipboard Copied! Toggle word wrap Toggle overflow - Configure the appropriate permissions for the
/root/.ssh/authorized_keysfile:chmod 600 /root/.ssh/authorized_keys
# chmod 600 /root/.ssh/authorized_keysCopy to Clipboard Copied! Toggle word wrap Toggle overflow - Remove the SSH key:
rm -f /root/.ssh/rsync_id_rsa.pub
# rm -f /root/.ssh/rsync_id_rsa.pubCopy to Clipboard Copied! Toggle word wrap Toggle overflow
Important
Ensure you have performed this procedure on all node hosts.
