Prerequisites for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Image Builder

Before creating a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) image, you’ll need to have access to your Red Hat and public cloud account details. You’ll use these to route your image to your target cloud environment(s).

If you already have your account details ready, begin the image creation process on Red Hat Console.

  • Finding your account IDs

What do you need before starting?

  • Red Hat account
  • An account with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or AWS

Steps for meeting the prerequisites

  • Gather your account IDs for your target cloud services environment or environments.
    • Find your subscription, tenant IDs, and resource group in the Microsoft Azure portal.
    • Use your Gmail address to authenticate your GCP account.
    • In the AWS console, your ID can be found in the Support Center.
  • (Optional) If you have an active Red Hat subscription, you can register your instance by choosing the correct activation key from the dropdown menu within the Image Builder, under Subscriptions.  
  • Open Red Hat Image Builder in the Hybrid Cloud Console and log in with your Red Hat credentials.

You are now ready to create your first image with Image Builder.
