Red Hat Update Infrastructure systemd/Timers

Systemd timers are systemd unit files that end in .timer that control .service files or events. Several repetitive tasks are automatically scheduled and run in Red Hat Update Infrastructure, on the RHUA node in particular.

Parameters for systemd timers

  • Timer files are stored in /usr/lib/systemd/system in the RHUA container.
  • All the log file paths are in the RHUA container. Note that /var/log/rhui is also available on the RHUA host as /var/lib/rhui/log, and /root/.rhui is available as /var/lib/rhui/root/.rhui
  • Timers are randomized when the RHUA container starts or is restarted.
  • To view all the Red Hat Update Infrastructure timers, run the following command in the RHUA container:
    systemctl list-timers --all rhui\*

In addition to the above-mentioned timers, which exist in the RHUA container, the following timers are installed on the host systems where the RHUA, CDS, and HAProxy containers run.
