7.2. Raising the Domain Level

Important

This is a non-reversible operation. If you raise the domain level from 0 to 1, you cannot downgrade from 1 to 0 again.

Command Line: Raising the Domain Level

Log in as the administrator:
```
kinit admin
```
```
$ kinit admin
```
Copy to Clipboard Toggle word wrap
Run the ipa domainlevel-set command and provide the required level:
```
ipa domainlevel-set 1
```
```
$ ipa domainlevel-set 1
-----------------------
Current domain level: 1
-----------------------
```
Copy to Clipboard Toggle word wrap

Web UI: Raising the Domain Level

Select IPA Server Topology Domain Level.
Click Set Domain Level.
