Updated poppler packages that fix two bugs are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.

Poppler is a Portable Document Format (PDF) rendering library, used by applications such as Evince.

Bug Fixes

BZ#990096: The addition of support for AES-encoded PDF documents introduced the when exporting a password-protected PDF to Postscript using poppler, images were exported in their encoded form, making the resulting Postscript file unusable. This also affected printing of such PDFs as the same bug affected the printing logic. With this update, images in a password-protected PDF are properly decoded before the PDF is exported to Postscript, and printing of such PDFs no longer fails.
BZ#990097: Due to missing initialization of certain variables, previous versions of poppler functioned incorrectly when processing values of these uninitialized variables. With this update, the underlying source code has been modified to address this issue.

All users who require poppler are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which fix these bugs.
