4.36. esound
An updated esound package that fixes one bug is now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.
ESounD, the Enlightened Sound Daemon, is a server process that mixes several audio streams for playback by a single audio device.
Bug Fix
- BZ#733090
- United States Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB) for Red Hat Enterprise Linux prohibits world-writable directories owned by users. The previous version of ESounD created a temporary directory, /tmp/.esd, with incorrect permissions and placed its socket there. This update ensures that the directory is owned by the root user, and ESounD is thus compliant with the USGCB guidance for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
All users of esound are advised to upgrade to this updated package, which fixes this bug.
