File-Based Catalog
The File-Based Catalog (FBC) provides a plain text, declarative configuration format for packaging and managing operator upgrade paths on OpenShift clusters.
A key limitation of the older format is that operators could not modify their upgrade graphs after releasing a bundle. FBC addresses this by allowing changes to upgrade paths without requiring a new bundle release. It provides more flexibility in certification and post-release updates.
