11.4. Testing the MongoDB Configuration


If MongoDB is not configured correctly, the client tools fail with unhelpful error messages. The following instructions describe how to test the MongoDB configuration.
On the broker, verify that MongoDB is running with the following command:
# service mongod status
If MongoDB is not running, inspect the /var/log/mongodb/mongodb.log file and look for any "multiple_occurrences" error messages. If you see this error, inspect /etc/mongodb.conf for duplicate configuration lines, as any duplicates may cause the startup to fail.
If the mongod service is running, try to connect to the database:
# mongo openshift_broker
This returns a command line from MongoDB.
